baffled on 32 ford rail vin numbers

hey guys, I suppose I need to introduce myself. My name is Shane and Im from Lake Havasu City, AZ. I'm building a 27 T roadster on deuce rails. I was fortunate to have friends that were willing to "pass the torch" and teach me along the way. This is my first build and at 25 with the drive to learn, I decided the jump right in with both feet. I was recommended to this forum rather than the other one because a fellow member told me their were many knowledgable folks on here.

When i got the rails, the back half where the kick up was cut off. However i was able the find two other locations where the vin numbers were as clear as day. The middle of the frame under the body, and near the firewall "through bolt" hole. Every forum post i've seen said the 32 ford rails started with a 18-xxx etc for v8. However my numbers are * 10xxbx * their are no other numbers what so ever before or after any of the stars. x's = numbers. Can somebody help me out?

The middle and rear stampings of the 3 VIN# usually do not have the 18 or AB or B prefix
What you show as a b is most likely 6 as Ford used a stamp that looks like a musical note for the 6 and similarly the 9 as well as a capital I for the number 1.
Good to have a young person interested in these old Fords. Welcome, especially if you put a flathead in that T!

Shane, Hi, welcome to the barn. The hamb is cool too, especially for a rod.

This page might be helpful to you. Interesting reading, including a picture of the number shapes.

Yours looks like a mid 1932 number, like stated above, the prefix was left off sometimes.

Yours looks like a V8 number because the 4 cyl numbers start at 500000 (I think)

Mart.
