Bad Clutch or ******?

Ok this is what is happening. Push in clutch pedal and the engine runs fine. Let out the pedal and the engine seems to be under a load and will stall if the clutch comes out this happens in any gear. This is even with the ****** in nuetral. I have a 1929 closed cab pickup with a 1930 4 banger. I at first thought it was the ******, but with the engine off, I can push the vehicle very easy in nuetral with the pedal out. I am unable to push the vehicle when it is in any gear with the pedal out.

Pilot shaft bearing?
More history would help. Is this a barn find, been parked 20 years, etc.

Does it make noise when you let the clutch out in neutral?
Have you checked the lube level, perhaps drained it to look for chunks of metal
There are different bearings involved between running in neutral ---and moving the car in neutral, your problem is most likely in the front bearing, countershaft bearings---perhaps even a chunk of tooth jammed in a gear, the top of the trans comes off pretty easy , take some pictures, post them, you will get better results on the model A side

run a seperet wire from the batt + to eng ground & an other wire from the bat neg to the coil see if it helps if it does bad elect connection some ware

Ok, so as said above a little more info would help, but the scenario you describe could indicate a seized bearing in the transmission. It would have to be on the input side, so, input shaft bearing, cluster gear bearings, that sort of thing.

When you push the vehicle in neutral ONLY the output shaft turns. ALL the other parts are stationary.

If you said it was driving ok yesterday and today it is doing this, I can't say what it would be, but if it has been standing in a swamp for 30 years and you have just coaxed the engine into life, I could believe it.

We ain't mind readers, the more info given in the first place will get better quality answers.

If you can try and start it in gear with clutch up and disconnect ign.
You don't want to knock down garage wall.
If it moves you have mouse in clutch.
