backing plate emergency brake cable tubes

anyone ever replace rear backing plate emergency brake tubes? if so, how?

I have. Cut the remains off and ream out the hole it goes through. I had found some hydraulic steel tubing about the right size as the orginal. You have to bend a slight bend in the tube . I did it with a 1/2 heavy duty tube bender. For the end that the rubber boot fits on. I flattend out a 1/2" lock washer and welded it to the tube with some small tacks and sanded it down on the belt sander. With the boot in place you cant tell the difference
