Back seat cushon in 1939 Ford

I'm having trouble getting the backseat cushion out of the car, 1939 Ford tudor. I would think that it simply lifts up and then out but it seems to be resisting???? Thanks
 
Check below the bottom of the cushion. There are some metal straps there that are screwed to the floorpan
 
Thanks, with the bottom cushion out I can see the straps that you mention. I will get the bolts going through the floor loose. I notice that they are almost solid rust but will start to work on them.
 
In my younger days it was all I could do to STOP my back seat from jumping out all by itself when my gal and I went out to watch the submarine races. Wink wink.
