back-firing

Took the A for a drive this morning, run like a champ. Drove about 15 miles, it got warm up good, when I got home it started back-firing while putting her in the garage, it must be time for new points, don't you think?

Check to see if the points have closed up due to the rubbing block getting worn. Might just need to re-set the gap.

just check the carb for dirt, that is the main culprit for backfiring and dirty gas...You dont assume it is the points and I bet is sure is NOT the condenser!..

I agree with 1crosscut. Don't understand Mark's comment--Ye know neither the hour nor the day when thy condenser shall fail. Nonetheless, there's a whole world of possibilities, both electrical and fuelish. Check for a strong spark, good fuel flow, and all of your connections.
