I know you will all be very pleased "Florence"( AKA 1929 60B blind back fordor DOB 6th May 29) made it to the Henham Steam Rally and back
two days without a hitch, ran like a clock ,bless her. So I guess the brake light switch was the culprit with the blown fuses. On the way back Saturday evening heard a loud bang as if the car had been hit . I was on a busy road so could not pull over immediately the car still ran well so pulled into the next parking area .Could find nothing wrong visually ,a mystery so continued home at reduced speed . When I was putting the car away I noticed the quail had flown the coop, the flip base was there but no birdie. The quail was held on by two integral pot metal stalks peened over on the underside. One stalk had failed long ago the stalk top being black with sulphate the other a fresh crystaline break. The departing quail had left a ding on the left rear fender and headed into the greenery at the roadside . Very luckily it had not bounced into following vehicles, windshield etc etc. I took a modern and went back to the scene of the crime but the bird had flown, no doubt at 36000 ft heading for China. Just wondered if this is a known occurence with elderly repro quails as it could be dangerous for following traffic as it is quite a chunky item.

John in I had a grand two days it cant be legal cool dark evening England.
