Autolite 2 BBL Question

Well-known member
has clock casting on side of bowl
with 123 on it
can't make out stamped number on
'baseplate' until it gets washed off
which napa rebuild kit does it take?
list numbers for carbs at napa
look like Holley numbers
letter and 4 digits
carb is off 292 out of '60-'64 truck

Does the carb have a tag attached to the top by a screw? If so, get me the number and I will try to get you a Carb. kit number from NAPA. Is this a Autolite 2300 carb?

If memory serves me correctly, a Motorcraft CT499D kit would fit. It's a good kit for most all of the earlier Autolite/Motorcraft 2100 2bbl carbs. NAPA should have a cross reference for their brand

The main difference between the earlier Ford "flat-top", that you have, and the later Autolite is in the accelerator pump and emission junk. The NAPA kit services both types.

The carb pictured is actually an Autolite 2100. 2300 was a Holley. The 123 on the side means 1.23" diamater venturi's which would be for a larger V8. I'm sure any '62ish kit for that model carb for a Ford will work.

thank you tdlmo mower
this is from mustang forum
somebody else has been down same road

'That sounds like the right kit number, the 2300 is a close cousin / late 70's version of the 2100.
A few years ago Napa combined alot of kits that were more specific (ie. just for 2100 etc.) into just one kit-the 5585.
You will find that it has about 3 different top cover gaskets and some other parts inside you won't use.
There should also be 2 or 3 sets of instructions (usualy located inside box outside of sealed parts)
that apply to the different models kit is used for.'

STOP!
don't spend a minute on that
i'm building a roadster/dragster with this
drivetrain
but thanks for the offer:)
40 coupe
guess i could find out
i'm not the 'mr home repair' type
'a man has to know his limits':)

The Autolite 2100 with 1.23 venturi is meant for a 390 cu in engine. A 292 will run with one on top, but not very well. The carb is way too big.

40 coupe, I studied that for quite a while too, but didn't want to interupt until he had his question answered. I think I finally figured it out. It's "One of them things".... ;<}

40 coupe and junk
will ask handyman
keep in mind i broke his 3/4" socket
trying to get flexplate off
so it may take awhile:)
happy holidays
