autolight heater

Hi all,

I think I have a good technical problem for you all. I have a waffle style autolight heater manifold that I was going to put on my car for the trip to Vanvouver.

Anyhow, dad and I were trying to mate it up with the intake and in the process I noticed that one of the bolt holes where the intake mates up goes straight through. Looking on the inside of the manifold, one bolt hole has the little dome of iron and is sealed. The other dome is half gone so if you screw in a bolt, you can see the threads.

Question: can/should I repair it or should I get .35 cents for it and keep looking? How is the best way to repair it?

Mike

Do you really need to be concerned about the penetration of the bolt? Unless I don't understand the problem, I would use a bolt that doesn't go all the way through. Setting the bolt in the muffler sealant that works so well on the manifold / exhaust joint would certainly seal the threads. Gar Williams
