auto trans starter

I have an automatic transmission in my 53 and am asking if all the starters are the same, one in the car now and a spare from a standard trans parts car and want to get it rebuilt and store on shelf for my 53

NO. The main body of the starter may be the same but the starter drive is different and maybe rear of the starter. I have one in my stuff in my storage barn. Walt

Thanks Walt, I would offer to buy it from you but the ride across the country would eat me up. I guess my option would be to wait till time and get it rebuilt then
