Hey Pat, Over the weekend I was watching a travel program on PBS about about Carmel and Big Sur. The tour boat captain was named Pat Lovejoy. Was that you?

I was not the captain of that boat, The Pinnacle, that's Jim. I was the divemaster. I led the dive and did a lot of the narrative since at the time I was a docent at Pt Lobos State Park and team captain of the open water rescue and park patrol boat.

And yes, I did drive my Model A down there when I was not towing the boat. That highway is one of the best Model A roads you can imagine. Its also a prime example of why Model A brakes should be in good condition.

Well, that's pretty cool. It's not every day you see someone you know on TV. I thought that had to be you. When he said the name I almost gave myself a whiplash. The name of the program was "Open Road". Some of these programs on PBS are pretty old and when you see one you don't know if it's current or made some years ago. When was that one made? That road sounds pretty intriguing - maybe when I retire I'll drive my Model A down there.
Best Regards!

it was made in 2003. I'm a lot grayer now. It was once a program on a local San Francisco station named "Bay Area Backroads", and now is apparently being regularly recycled on PBS as several club members have seen it as well over the last 2 years.

Thanks, Pat. We only met once, at the 2004 MAFCA National meet in Portland, and I thought I should recognize you - but I wasn't sure.
