OK, I've had my introduction to split guide installations. Whew! Maybe a bit easier on the bigger engines where you can get your fingers in there. Anyway just wondering, I probably should have replaced my horse shoe clips, some were a bit distorted. Is that common practice? They are all up in the counterbore and hopefully good to go, but do they ever have a problem with those things letting go? If so what happens, the guide just moves up, spring pressure gone and valve not closing? Nothing catastrophic?
