Grandpa had these laying around.

Are these model a wheels and how much are they worth?

Thanks!@

No. I can not see if these are 5 bolt or 6 bolt. If they are 5 bolt likely they are 32-35 Ford wheels. 32 Ford cars took 18" tires. 33-34 took 17" tires. And 35 Fords took 16" tires. Rod

Worth heaps in my country and people use them on model A's with 16 inch tires for easy to obtain, cheaper tires. Might fit small truck or offroad tires too, i would not know.

When bored, I spin my wheels to ring my spokes, can't figure out what tune/song they're playing:confused: Any ideas? It's NOT "Blueberry Hill" by "FATS." Maybe it's "Who Shot John??"

Not sure of the tune, but you know when you hit a sour note - it's not good.

"just a playin' his spokes, like a-ringing a bell,"
"And sounding like they should."

(apologies to Ricky Nelson)

Can you explain how to "ring the spokes"? I have not heard of that before.

Yes - A lite tap on the spoke in the middle of the shaft (with a piece of wood as suggested or I use a screwdriver). If it is good, it will make a ringing sound. If it bad, cracked or broken, it will make a thud sound. The difference is quite noticeable.

Sometimes it is hard to tell if a spoke is good when it is covered with paint or rust by just looking.

You can tap all the spokes on a wheel in less than a minute.
