Stumbled across this forum while I was over at Garage Journal. Notice a couple other Meteor's being talked about so here is mine.

The car has been in the family since new in 1963 The car is a 1963 Mercury Meteor Custom 2dr in Sultana White. Car is 99.99 original besides the AM/FM Cassette player my grandfather put in the car in the 80's. The car has 123k miles just completed a 700 mile trip and ran GREAT. The 260 mated with the 2sp auto did well surprised everyone with my 19.7 MPG on the trip.

If Meteor's aren't allow sorry but these cars are pretty damn rare these days.

They're all part of the same family. :)
Wish I still had my first Mercury. (about 8yrs newer than yours)
Welcome!

Mine was a red '56 2 dr hardtop. I lived in El Paso, Texas 1966. I needed an interior, every Merc in El Paso had a Mexican Roll and Pleat interior done in Juarez. I went to my local wrecking yard and bought a nice fresh perfect roll and pleat interior and headliner for $15.00. (!) Ahhh those were the days. That Merc had the Y block with a dome top 4 barrel and would pass anything but a gas station. I sold it to a guy at Ft. Bliss, $300.00. The only repair mechanically was I had to put overhead oiler lines on the valve covers due to worn cam bearings. The kit was $4.00 or so.

Welcome to Ford Barn. Here are some photos of a 1962 Mercury Meteor that has made its home in Australia. These are nice looking cars.

The 62 Meteor Sedan was seen on the Gold Coast in 2010 at Wintersun. It was not registered and was for sale. I have not seen it since that date, so I don't know where it finished up.
