APPLE GREEN for the Wheels

You can also try the Dupont Tech Line 1-800-338-7668. they will fax you any vintage paint codes for their Dupont paints for mixing pints, quarts or gallons.

Powder coating for wheels is pretty good....not too sold on it for other parts!
Be careful with the Apple Green formula. The yellowy color is not the true original color. I have had a few old, old apple green wheels. While I believe factory only painted wheels black(not sure?) it would likely be an error to call them "original" but the current apple green ain't the old apple green. IMHO

lol

yea im not a fan of powdercoating anything... great till you get one crack or chip (yes they can and do and will chip) then its rust city as it gets trapped under the powderCOAT.

I have seen the apple wheels and they do look nice on the right cars!

no Model A looks good with whitewalls.......

Hi Chris have not seen you for a while.

We all have our opinion of what we like, and it should be that way.

Just like over-restoring cars to a sparkle they never had when showroom new, or painting Hot Rods in "Avoid the Boyd" Easter egg colors, whitewall tires on cars that commonly didn't have any were a dominant trend of the past. Nowadays even Pebble Beach and Amelia Island embrace correctly restored cars as well as true preservation cars, Hot Rods carry more appropriate colors for the 1930s and '40s, and whitewall tires on a Model A are out. All of this is a good thing, a move in the right direction.

In your opinion, and that is fine with me. Because I do what I want to do on my cars. Not what some one else thinks I should. I also built hot rods off and on for the last 60 years, plus 25 stock model A,s. Some with white walls some with out.

Here is a picture of my last one. I still have a little to do on it.

Why do some people get "anal" if another owner wants to put white wall tires on his own vehicle ?
So what, if it doesn't meet the current judging standards. Most "A" owners don't compete in National Judging, anyway.
MIKE :)

Try Rustoleum Gloss Protective Enamel in GLS Fern (250705). I had a Model A man in the area, who also paints cars, compare the color with the Model A Ford Paint Swatches. He said it was a match. When I tested the color with the inside of a rim...it matched! It may not be powder coating, but it is only about $4 a spray can at WalMart. Give it a try.
