Anyone use Chevy Pistons?

The piston pin height on the stock chev pistons is different then the model A. by about .200 plus or mins some. So for stock chev pistons you will need special rods. The piston I talked about are made for the A.

Hi George, thanks for the info on pin location. I know that I want inserted rods and it seems like the price for "stock" type rods that are inserted and the rods that make it possible to use the chevy pistons cost about the same. So I guess it all just depends on the type of pistons I use. One of the stock rods I have is pitted so it would probably be best to replace it... This is great info and it is greatly appreciated :)

For those that might be interested, I have opted to use Egge's new pistons which use the 283 style narrow rings. I couple those pistons to Falluca's inserted rods made to accept Model A style piston pins. I have two engines on the road with this combination and currently have the engine out of my Pietenpol in Rich's shop for insert mains and the same piston / rod combination. Works for me....... Aerocraft,

How bout a few pictures of your Pietenpol and maybe a story or two.

Pietenpol's make my heart beat faster and my imagination run wild. Wish I was a "doer" like you.
