oldskool

i have a rebuilt carter WCFB from a 52 olds and was wondering if anyone had any luck with these mounted on flathead offy 4bbl manifold,i know you can put a new holley on them but i want that old school look, by the way the motor is bone stock 8BA....thanks al

They run great on a flathead. Mount it backwards on intake and hook the linkage to the bottom (Linkage is on right side) and you will be happy.

The Carter WCFB is an excellent selection for a 4 bbl carb on a flattie. Ran one on my 8-BA for many years back in the 50's. Another plus is the base fits the intake without having to use an adapter. Does yours have mechanical or vacuum secondaries? Mine had vacuum but both work just as well. I still have it sitting on my spare flattie in the garage.

mine has machanical secondaries, and pass side throttle hookup like the flattie, and even has the choke on the driver side

Does anyone know where you can buy a kit to rebuild a Carter WCFB carb and parts? Marv

The 49-53 load a matic distributor won't work with this or any other caeb. You should run an MSD or modified A SBC dist.

I am running one on my 32 5 window and love it so far. I have a NOS 52 Buick WCFB still in the box for my next project.

OL"RON is right. I forgot to mention that you need to change to a full centrifugal distributor. The vacuum advance type won't work right.

The small block Chevy dist can be modified to use it's motor intake vacuum advance along with restricted mechanical advance. Best of both worlds, performance and economy.

Can anyone give me pointers as to what cars I can find this carb on? I can check the pick and pull locally or fleabay if needed. And will this carb work on an Edelbrock manifold?
I have a stock 8ba backed up with a c4.

*edit* I looked on the eekbay site and found a bunch but don't know what will work, so your info would be greatly appreciated.
