Anybody Using Rotella T 15-40

Several guys using Shell Rotella because is has more zinc than the newer oils. Good for our flat tappet engines. Go for it.

It the best. Shell Motor Oil can't be beat. I use it in my Model T's, Model A's, 33,35,39's and also my 56 Ford.It the best for flatheads I have found.

I use it in my woodie 59A with 8RT heads, no oil filter. I change the oil every 350 to 500 miles. 5,000 miles on this engine and everything's good!

I'm using it in my unfiltered rebuilt '36 LB engine. I've always heard good reports on the product.

I use it in everything I own from diesel tractors to lawnmowers to my unfiltered flathead since 1999. No failures or adverse effects.

We've used it for years in our heavy duty Diesel engines. I'm using it in an unfiltered flathead which gets an oil change once a year (600-700 miles). Test results on the flathead oil samples show negligible dilution and no abnormal wear characteristics. Recently our sales rep advised us that Shell may have to reduce the zinc content to comply with new Diesel engine emission regulations.

My father used it in everything from our 855cid Cummins diesel powered 4WD tractor, gas Chevy grain truck, 57 IHC fuel wagon, gas town car and pickup, even in his diesel Ford Escort mail car. NO problems whatsoever, and that covers a wide range of working conditions and strain not seen in a restored car.

We use it in all our old cars. Our Model T's ,ModelA's and the flatheads plus the 56 ford, Works very well in them all.Been thinking of useing it in slalad dressing also. Couldn't hurt?:D

Ok i have been wondering this for a while what is the best oil to use for a street flathead, recent rebuild with 7,000 miles on it,offy heads and dual holley 94s.Its a 50 ford 8ba.Is brad penn a good product and what weight are we talking? it for a flitered flathead.I also use zinc additive as well.

"Been thinking of using it in salad dressing also. Couldn't hurt?:D "

It's not bad if you mix some "Emeril's Essence" with it.

The zink in oil is really not important in flatheads there is not enough spring presure to need the extreme pressure additives, when the springs have enough pressure to work in the front suspension the cam needs the additives to live.Shell rotella T is a good oil,it raised the low rpm pressure in My flathead and My 496 with .002" clearance .Detergent oil holds dirt in suspension and needs to be changed more often without a filter
