Hard to explain. The arrow in this photo points to the area; they were down in the very narrow gap, maybe a1/16” wide, just to the right and behind the bolt head in this photo.
Jim & Seabees, thanks. That is a strong possibility. I’ve always thought chasing rattles on a Model A was a fool’s errand, but in this case it’s an easy application. I’ll just reinstall them where found.
