This is a similar problem that i have run into. The clubs are about 1 1/2 hours away or so and most of the people live about an hour or more away. Virtually every single weekend since I moved here back in February I have gone to every local car show around or near my own town, but most have zero Model A's and if they do have one it has been converted to a rod or a rat rod. The locals I have found with stock Model A's know almost nothing about them at all. I am headed out to two different shows this weekend and hope to meet up with a young fellow who has a coupe he inherited. We met before at a show. It is in pretty bad shape, but he is slowing bring it back to life as stock with the patina and all to remain. I'll see him again this weekend and hopefully I'll find a Model A or two at one of the shows I go to.
Like say, most of the members from the Ok Sooners club live an hour or more away from my town. I was even considering taking out an ad in the local Green Sheet or Thrifty Nickle paper to ask about anyone living near here with a Model A or experience with such, but sort of fearing that such may also attract undesirables. Local street events and cruises have not shown any Model A's at them, so far.
I'll keep on looking as one never knows just what may turn up.
