I have 3 marvel carburators and just want some history or any type of info on them. I have heard they were made by sears, and i also heard you can get 10 more mph with them. Any info would be great. If you run a marvel let me know how you like them.

I have a Tilly, a Zenith, and a Marvel, always go back to the Marvel just seems to perform best on my truck and with my driving style. Clyde

I use a Marvel Shebley carb on my 30 coupe - like it better than the Zenith or Tilly - runs better with more pep. Unfortunately the jets are all cast into the body and are not replaceable that I know of. Cleaning them up good inside and out is about all you can do for restoring .Mike's A Parts carries gasket kits for them:

They were made by Borg Warner for Sears, Wards ,Western Auto etc. They are common and I find them almost at every antique car swap meet. If you're looking for one at a swap meet, make sure it has the GAV, GAV driver, and the brass gas line adapter fitting which are often missing.

The Model A Ford Works in Portland has gaskets for these. I don't know about other parts. Call Tom: 503-284-1928. (This is not a commercial posting. I'm not Tom and I don't have any business connection with the company).

My Zenith was getting hard to start so I bought a NOS, in the box Marvel Schebler carb and the engine starts great now and although I haven't got to drive it on the road, it sounds very responsive
