Ah, such fond memories the phrase 66 Ford 1/2 ton brings back for me. I have owned many "cowboy cadillacs" before, and since the time I owned that truck, but I think I have been closer to none. I mean this little truck had personality, and I often thought it truly cared about me, getting me there on empty, starting on the slightest push when the battery went dead, and keeping perfect time to the Rolling Stones whenever I had onead in the eight track! It never did use much oil, the 240 six, although when she finally gave up and I pulled the head to find the problem, I found a cylinder wall which was cracked. Little wonder, as it had worn thin as paper, as had the other five. So, although it still ran reasonably well for most purposes, it apparently had expanding rings sufficient to stop blow by! Or, perhaps it just didn't have the heart to tell me it lung disease....limping along till the poor thing broke its ribs!
