The Antique Nationals for 2013 will again be held at Irwindale Raceway, on June 2nd. Some new rules will be in force, all open cars will need arm restraints, roll bars will be required for cars quicker than a certain e.t., I will get an update on this. Helmets must be 2005 or newer. Fontana may or may not be running at this time but we needed time for advertising, etc. so couldn't wait to see.

Do you have the rules for the Antique nationals? If so can you send me a copy please. Im building a Model A speedster. Thanks for your time

The strip uses NHRA rules, and we must comply with them but many of our older cars are not fast enough to need a lot of equipment. All cars must have seat belts. See my original post above for more details or e-mail me at jimb4e4@gmail.com for more info.

Jim,
Here is a list of the rules the track has used for the past few years:

Are there any other rules that will be in effect this year?

.

Thanks Daddyo! Seat belts, catch cans and arm restraints are probably the main modifications needed to most model A's. DJ Safety has arm restraints that will slip over stock-type seat belts, 323-221-0000. Irwindale considers what we all call a closed car to be an open car if any of the windows are open or not there, just be aware.

Do you need a pit pass? Or are spectators in a bleacher? Vaguely remember a video that this was an open event like a hill climb? Bob

No pit pass needed. Entry fee gets you every where. If you want to enter your car, there is no additional charge. You just need to get it through tech inspection and have the proper safety apparel.

Prices have changed for this year. Entry is down to $15 per person but to run a car is now an additional $40. This was done to try and draw more spectators. Entry does allow you access to the pits. This year there will still be a car-corral but no trophy's. The corral gives a place for vintage cars to show there stuff and enjoy each other's company.
