Does anyone know for sure if this anti rattle spring will work on my 50 custom with Flathead V8. I have been told it will. Thanks

I'm sure someone has a correct one of these laying around that they can take a picture of and post it. I would, except that I am in Florida for the winter and am 2200 miles from my shop. If you can wait until May, I'll step up.

I spent a little time looking on the internet, because I thought a proper spring would be available. Two things became obvious to me. The first is that in every occasion these were listed with the year application specified, NONE was for earlier than 1957. Second, I did find the dust shield that works in conjunction with this spring listed and it specifically indicated '49-'53 only. The spring is only $4.95, but the effort required to find out it is the wrong spring is considerable.

That looks a little different than the one I have I think. I called one place in Minnesota. He did not have one. He gave me the number to another place and I called but haven't talked to anyone.
He said I might have to buy the arm with the spring on it which would be fine. Going to keep looking,

If the picture the guy that didn't have one posted, is correct, the later ones are obviously wrong. The ends on the 8BA spring have pronounced "hooks". while the later one lacks them. I wouldn't spend the effort to find out that it didn't work.

Yes tried Southside and he gave me phone number to Joe's in Minnesota but he didn't have one off a car. He gave me another phone number to call so I am going to try that.
I asked about one on one of the forums on Facebook and a guy came back and said he has one but I am kind of Leary of it. First he said he wanted 50.00 and then 100.00 so I don't know. Think I will keep looking. Was hoping someone on here would have one.
Wish I had a clutch lever to see if this Mustang spring would fit.
