another winning Ebay listing

with very minor surface rust spots in a few areas It could be restored or just drive as is

Must be special fibreglass that looks original with rust .

The only comment my Norwegian self can muster is.... Uff Da....

Would be a great project but its obvious it needs just about everything done IMO. I'd bet five bucks that the only restoring it had "a while back" was a poor paint job, some replacement fenders, a seat covering and some bondo.

The part about not insulting him with a low ball offer would probably make me walk away and not even bother. Somebody might pay that asking price but personally I'd probably be thinking less than half that price.

Not ebay but get this

FOR SALE - 1930 Ford Model A, Deluxe Coupe

I think we can put this one to bed. No need to sit here and keep bashing every aspect of the listing. We get it, the seller isn't putting down all the correct information, like a lot of them do.

agreed Franchise-BTW shays sell for 12k all day long so there is a definite market for all of these mongrels. What is the benefit on beating the prices down? never understood, does it make one feel better? It certainly doesn't support the hobby.....

Paul, understood, my point is there is a buyer for everything.
why keep pummeling every listing?

reminds me of going to a show and an "authority" walks around finding every measley point of wrong about a car and letting everyone know how "brilliant" he is..... why not say "good" things about a car instead of ripping everyone's car to the ground?

I guess I don't see the point of these posts.

"Only the fenders are body shell are replaced with fiberglass".
This just strikes me funny !

There is probably a large percentage of owners who don't know what is original and what is not. If they are told their car is "all original" they will repeat that statement forever.

For instance, none of the members of our local clubs are on fordbarn.com, and only a small percentage own a copy of the RG&JS or even know what it is. Everyone else just drives and eats. Mostly eats.

So if you are not deeply into Model A details, you may not know any better. That's okay... everybody has their shtick. :)

Idk? Maybe he would take an offer in the 7-8 range. I think any running 30-31 roadster under 10 is a buy. It says modified oil system. Who knows that may mean a Riley head or something. It doesn't sound like whoever wrote the add knows anything about it.

Everything else is "ALL ORIGINAL" !!... So Some one in your area buys it as stated, and really knows nothing about what it is & what its not.. YOUR not going to be the one (ARE YOU), who tells him/her that the battery was NEVER under the hood, wrong headlights, wrong carb, gas line just waiting to start a fire, & a fan ready to fly away !! ETC, ETC..??:rolleyes:

There is a difference in pointing out items related to safety and items that are on the car that are not original.

Yes, I would point out things for safety. I would mention the fan. When I bought my first Model A, I did not know about Model A fans until what I read here on the forum. I feel it would be proper to pass on the information.

Regarding the headlights or battery, why make an issue about it? If the owner is happy, why should I knock him down? I have a phrase for those that need to comment and that is "small dick syndrome". ;)
