I installed the new rebuilt oval speedo in the 29 today. When I took it out for a test, nothing. I then noticed that the gear drive was facing the wrong direction on the ******, so it actually worked in reverse, but not forward!
After re-installing the drive, the speedo worked for about 10 seconds and nothing. I'm wondering if I have a cheap repop cable with the wrong size inside cable in it. The head turns freely and the cable isn't stuck in the housing. Can a too short drive cable do that, run for a couple of seconds, and then slip out of position?
