As an introduction I bought myself a '37 Standard Fordor. It is actually a Model 74 touring that is an older "restoration". As part of the work done the old 60 horse flathead was removed and a 24 stud flathead inserted. All in all a pretty nice looking old Ford. It runs pretty darn nice too!
I am having trouble determining exactly what engine is in the car. I can't see enough of the bell housing to see if it has a "59" cast into it, but it sure does have all the appearances of a 59 series. The heads have the numbers 99T-6049 stamped in the right head and 99T-6050 in the left head. But they also have a "T9" cast on the heads. I am guessing that this might be possibly a truck engine?
I am probably have a bunch of questions on this old car as I go along with trying to get it into shape as it has been 50 years since I last played with one of these old Fords, and I don't really know anybody in this area that has one that hasn't been hotrodded.
I have been enjoying reading the various posts that are on this site and am looking forward to chatting with you. i am trying to attach a photo of the left head. Hopefully this works!
