Another flathead question (yeah I've got a lot of them)

If I decide to go with building one myself, what areas of the block are prone to cracks (8BA)? I may be looking at some short blocks next weekend and would like to know what to look for and be aware of
 
Cracks of concern from any valve seat to the cylinder edge also the oil pan rail along pan bolting surface and also inside the block along the inner edge where the oil pan rail is located.

You may see a crack or cracks on the deck surface from a water hole to stud hole typically at the center of the deck larger diameter water hole also at times similar cracks will be seen between the outer cylinders from small water hole to stud hole these cracks are nothing to worry about.
