There was a similar style by Borg Warner in the 70's. It had the Chrysler type electronics which were dead reliable, but the flying magnet adaption would fail and turn off and allow engine to make a couple revolutions and then turn on. Spectacular backfires. Sometimes blowing up mufflers and pipes, breaking timing gears. Most were removed. JMO
