Another cutout question

My cutout is made by Electra. On the front, where it connects to the gen. there is a screw where a wire could be connected. What would that be far?

I've got the same thing on mine, a terminal screw like where the wire to the harness & junction box connect, but on the other side of the cutout. No idea what it's used for.

Any device(s) you want to operate only when the engine is running. Your aftermarket cutout was made to fit several apps, thus an unused connection on an "A".

Modern cars generally don't have accessories drop out when the engine is stopped, but many older cars (pre-external voltage regulators) had wipers, heater blowers, etc. wired that way to reduce drain while starting.

If you had an electric fuel pump or solenoid fuel valve, that terminal would be a good place to connect it. You would need to jump it to get started if you ran the carb bowl dry.

Gotcha, If you put something there and the engine went to idle where the cutout opened, would it get enough from the gen to work? Example turn lights.

I guess it depends on the device. A 6V fuel pump or solenoid valve will probably continue to operate on 5V, but I'm not so sure a turn signal flasher would continue to blink. From a safety standpoint, I wouldn't want the turn signals (and four-way flasher if you have a signal stat 900) to be non-functional with a stopped engine.
