Another Carburetor Question

I have a late 1931. Where the fuel goes in, I have a filter that puts fuel in at a right angle to the carb and has a valve on the bottom of it. I am trying to remove the throttle shaft. I removed the two screws in the throttle plate but can't pull the shaft out. It looks like there is a pin that is holding the end of the throttle shaft, if it is holding the shaft in, is that removable?

I hit the shaft hard with a drift pin and it doesn't come out. At first I pried with a screwdriver and it came out about 1/16 of an inch. Maybe I need to drill the pin out?
