Another carburetor question . . . . .

I have 2 zenith carbs for my Town Sedan. One allows the car to run and idle well, but nearly die when I slow down. The other allows me to start the car but then die immediately. This question has to do with the latter.

One thing I noticed when I had them both off (again) was that the second carb's idle adjust screw at the throttle plate has to be screwed in almost all the way to even touch the peg that's supposed to stop it, whereas the idle adjust screw on the other one is about mid-way in and works (mostly) fine. Regardless, it doesn't look normal to me (the second one) but I'm not expert enough to know - is that situation correct? If not, how do I correct it?

The pic here shows the situation. While it looks like the screw is touching the post, it is not.

Any ideas? Thanks

Over the years things get switched out in the carburetors and the rest of the cars. Look at the throttle plate when the throttle is closed. There should be a small gap. If the gap is about the same on both carburetors then find a longer screw for the one where it bottoms out.

@Gary - no, it is not. And it works fine with the first carb.

@nkaminar - sounds like a plan. Thanks
