Another Brake Question!

I'm doing a quick check of the brakes on my '29 Tudor and have a situation that is not addressed on line or in print (that I can find) and could use some help with.
I took apart the front brakes, cleaned all the parts, replaced the roller pins, springs and operating pins. Everything looks and feels right except on the right side the operating pin 'is too short'. When I put the clevis arm at approx 15 degrees the operating pin is not contacting the operating wedge even with a shim/pill. What's causing this? I didn't mess with the actuating arm at all, at least not yet. Is it possible that the operating wedge is worn? I can't imagine that being the case but after all the part could be 80+ years old.
Any ideas? Any suggestions?
Thanks!

the cup in the operating shaft, as well as the wedge could be worn. The pin could be worn. The pin could be one of the poor repros that are too short. It should be 7 1/4 inches long. If its a 7 1/8th pin, simply replace it. You can increase the length by brazing a bit on each end to lengthen it. Do not use more than 2 shims as a third will fall out.

Problem fixed! I had a buddy increase the length of the operating pins by adding some weld too both ends of the pin. I dressed the welds, put the pin in place and all is again good. Thanks for your input. I did read that fix somewhere but forgot about it. I seem to be doing that more and more lately... hum.
