i was hopeing someone has run across a flywheel like this, and have seen those stampings before. 81t numbers on the heads. dick t.

That is the standard flywheel. I have a number of them. They're quite heavy. They take a 9" pressure plate and disc.

None of the stampings mean anything today - just the inspector's numbers.

Plus, I agree with what flatjack said about the flywheel

The "99" stamping is very significant. Probably the best block, from a wall thickness viewpoint, which Ford cast.

I've learned recently from a collector knowledgable on prewar Merc's the 81T heads were used on the "99" series engines in these cars. It sounds like you could have a very original engine and desirable also as these seem to have thicker cylinder walls, at least the ones I've measured are.

Post some pics if you can.

These blocks were very desirable in stockcar racing back in the 50's-60's. That lip on the flywheel can be cut off giving a 22lb wheel. Much cheaper than the aluminum you can also get a stronger springs installed in the (' presure plate.. Not that this is of any interest to you, just a bit of history.
