An Automobile Insurance Opportunity

ALL: First, I am NOT a shill for this insurance company; I AM a member, and have recently been made aware of some changes that I think might be of benefit to some members of the 'Barn family.

USAA (United Services Automobile Insurance) Company, until very recently, restricted their membership to US Military Officers and Senior NCOs. They have now opened their enrollment eligiblity rules to include ALL military retirees and those who have honorably separated.

I have only positive comments to make, but youi can judge for yourself by calling 800-531-8722 or visit usaa.com/join.

NOTE: This is for your daily driver - NOT for your collectible, unless you do not desire "declared value" coverage.......

I agree 100%. I have been with USAA for 27 years and my Mother for over 50. One great company with more than just insurance. They have many financial services and are non profit. I get, as well as you I suspect, money back every year based on how well they did. Thanks for bringing this up. Joe

I've been a member of USAA for a very long time with only positive results. I also insure my roadster thru them (indirectly). Since they don't insure collectible cars they refer you to a company who does and I've been very satisfied with that arrangement.

Joe - Thanks for the reply - I totally forgot about the annual rebate: mine averages $300 to $500, based upon how well USAA performs, plus I have some $5000 in my "Subscriber Saving Account"..........I've been a member for some 30 years, and my Dad since late 1940's (now in my Mom's name)........I am hoping that our 'Barn family (those who qualify) will gain from this thread.

All my daily drivers, plus life, plus home are insured with USAA...and the costs are incredibly lower than competitors in Missisippi.

Charles in East Texas! Oh, what a perfect opportunity to explain that I DO NOT use the G-Ride for my personal trips......that '10 Crown Vic Police Interceptor stays home, while the '07 SuperCrew does the necessary chores, (unless, of course, Momma would rather ride in her '08 MkX) ...... she has a "thing" about AC - not something that you and I would ever understand!
Warm Regards, Marcus

Some one with USAA insurance hit my wifes car in the back, she was stopped. I found USAA to be cheap, unresponsive and at least one of their reps lies like a DOG... If this ever happens again, I will sue the owners of the other car and let them deal with their own insurance company...

On behalf of USAA and its members I would like to apologize for your experience. I've been a member for 48 years and based on my experience involving claims caused by my family members and the associated settlements would be amazed that they would act in such a callous manner as you describe. Definitely out of character for the USAA.
