Brendan, i just went out and looked at a 36 amp gauge, pretty sure you are going to have to remove the terminal, run it through the gauge, and solder a new end on.....Ed

Hay Ed,
I wonder if i could fold over the terminal and take off the rubber insulation, i will try that tomorrow. i don't wont to cut off the terminal, but i will if i have to. thanks , Brendan

Brendan, i would call the guy you bought this harness from, and see what he has to say. I would not try and open up the loop on the gauge in any way. Who knows, maybe some 36 guy on the morning crew will have a fix....Ed

i won't open up the loop on the gauge i definitely will mess it up , i will call Tyree Harris tomorrow, and see what he has to say, thanks
Thanks ,Brendan

Brendan, ask Tyree if he has a catalog listing all of his products, if so i like to get one.....Ed

Brendan, I use a pair of pliers and 'rearrange' /deform the terminal so it passes through the loop, then squeeze the terminal out flat again so it'll work. Brian

I rewired my 36 a few years ago using Tyree's harness. I called him with the same question. You need to carefully bend down the sides of the terminal and force it through the loops. It will work. You do not need to remove the terminal end.Again, the key is take your time and bend it closed only as far as you need to, then carefully open it when you get it through. Good luck.

An original harness came with that terminal already rolled into a U that just fit the ammeter, just the ring part was formed, none of the insulation had to be removed.

Please keep us posted, I cut mine off to get it out and have planed on doing the same to get it back in in a week or so, when my new circuit protector gets here, My terminal was also rolled, but I tried while I was able to stand and hold both pieces, mine wont go without magic....

This is the right answer - harnesses that I have used in the past came with the terminal edges rolled upward so that it would pass through the loop on the gauge. HOWEVER it is important that the terminal/wire be passed through in the correct direction so that the polarity and gauge reading are correct. If in the wrong direction, the gauge will read backwards! Might want to "test" it by temporarily connecting it before flattening the terminal out for final connection,
since probably only get "one-time" before the terminal breaks???

Hay, i got the wire through the amp gauge loop, i folded over the terminal and pulled off the insulation, it went right in. i put the insulation back on the terminal and the charging system works great, thanks for your help
