Hi guys its help time for me again. when i try adjusting the charging brush in the generator after loosening the screw i cant seem to move the brush. any ideas? latecomer thanks

If I am not mistaken the third (adjustable) brush does not have a set screw unless you remove the generator end plate. With the band removed, the adjustable brush should easily move back and forth with little effort using a non-conductive stick, small wire brush handle or similar tool.

After a little more research came up with the answer.you push from behind the brush with your thunb to decrease and pull toward you to increase. thanks

Down is up,and up is down.Roll up to decrease the amps, and roll down to increase the amps. You don't loosen any screws. The holder rotates. It should feel like it is turning in grease.

The powerhouse has a screw that must be loosened to adjust the third brush, but the common long generator third brush is held down by two tension springs, so no screws need to be touched, except the band screw. If the adjustable brush hasen't been moved for a long time it is usually very stiff, so I like to break it loose with a screwdriver while the engine is off.
