Amazing Stupidity

I had a lady pass me and then cut right back in front of me and stop dead in the lane. Guess how far my A knocked her SUV, and it was worth the bumper bracket I had to by for my car. I don't think she did that out of stupidity, I think she did it to make a claim on my insurance, which she did of course.

The same happened to me years ago in my 36 Ford 4-door. The lady got a ticket for unsafe lane changing, and I got a new grill. The officer understood mechanical brakes.:D

You confirm what somebody said above about a dash camera being useful when sorting out these shysters. As for using a phone while driving, lots of people, are booked for it here and with our system of demerit points, it may mean they are walking.

Amazing, just today, this makes it a grand total of four times while in my car I was hit in the rear, while waiting at a red light, good thing it wasn't my Model A.

Years ago I was stopped at a red light, and some guy came up behind me and also stopped. Then he drove forward into the trailer I was pulling. I asked him what was going on, and he said he forgot there was a trailer in front of him.

People also stop way too close to the car in front of them at red lights. You should leave enough distance so if some fool runs into your car, your car won't be pushed into the car ahead. If it is, remember, this part of the accident is now your fault since your car hit a parked car.

When I was a teenager we had Drivers Ed in High School and the teacher taught us that you always leave enough room from the car ahead of you to read their license. Now days most of the plates are on the trunk, but back then they were mostly on the bumper.

Over here, the driver of the car at the back is responsible for the damage to ALL of the cars in front of him no matter how many there are!

Its kind of a grey area, your supposed to leave one car length between you and the car in front of you as per the law. Small accidents your car might move half that distance and if you stopped too close your partially at fault BUT if your waiting at a red light and someone rear ends you going 60 MPH your car is going to get shoved well past the one car length so then its their fault. Ive thought about getting one of those vehicle cameras multiple times....
