Aluminum windshield frame?

i have one & love it . fit perfect & looks good . i bought it off ebay used ..... steve

I bought one for my 34 and it looks just like a steel one.If I painted it then I could not tell the difference except for a tig weld showing at the bottom.I suppose it depends upon where you buy it. I got mine from Speedway a few years back.

There is a supplier offering them made of stainless steel. They had them on display at the MAFCA national in Dallas in 2008. In fact they raffled one off. They looked good to me. I have since misplaced the literature. Maybe someone has the information. They sold for around $450, depending on body style.

Hope it's a 31, looks like it. :)

I could have checked it out for you, as it's about 9 miles from me.

I'm surprized Larry listed it as fitting all 4 years, because it fits 1930-31 correctly. Someone stuck one like it in my 29 Tudor and the arms bind when the windshield is closed all the way. 1928-9 pivot mounts for the arms are less offset than the 1930-1 frames.

I have one that is chromed on my slant and it's pretty nice. If you tap on the wind deflector on the bottom when the windshield is open though, you can hear that it is aluminum, not steel. Happy that it's aluminum because the chrome should hold up much longer rather than the steel rusting out below.

I purchased an aluminum frame from Snyder's. It required a little tweaking to fit and the welds were not pleasing. I dressed the welds and polished the frame with fine steel wool. the finish looks much like the radiator shell that I did not paint it. It looks great.
