Permatex makes a sealer called HYLOMAR HPF. Seals but allows easy removal of gasket. Also I have heard that plain old Vasolene works great.

Just a smear of ordinary grease on both sides of the gasket is what I always use. Think about it; it allows the surfaces to slide over each other as you tighten it down, the grease seals any voids like a regular sealer, any grease that squeezes into the intake ports or inside valley is easily assimilalted into the engine without causing any trouble, and gasket is easily removeable in reuseable condition further down the track. Thanks Brian and 19 fordy,i'll use the grease, just got new gaskets from fel-pro. Look much better quality than the Mac's i got.Anybody want it free just pay the shipping to you.Otherwise its going in the trash barrel.Probebly made from Chineeze seaweed or something. LOL. ken ct.

I hope not, different composition material and color, looks like their exhaust manifold gaskets i got from FP. Mac's is a black soft composition materal and FP is kind of a tan color and harder comp. We will see . Mac's was $5 FP was $15,im assuming their better? ken ct.

I build Ford engines and I ONLY use Fel-Pro ! I have never had a problem with those gaskets . Also just use something sparingly on one side of the gasket if you really need to . Really just put the gaskets on the engine and set the intake on them . There is really no reason to use a sealer on both sides of a gasket !

Thanks Jim i might just do that, never had trouble before except this last time doing it dry. ken ct.
