Can someone suggest a clear coat for an aluminum intake manifold
I would like to maybe match what Ken CT does to his carburetors

Also when bolting it down would loctite be used or never seize
on the bolt threads ?

And does the intake manifold gasket need sealant of any kind of sealant or does it go down dry ?

Thanks very much

On the gasket, the best thing to do is coat both side grease, that way you can remove the intake with out tearing the gasket, you can use it over a few times. On the bolts just use a little oil or never seze if you want to. I just spray a coat clear lacquer on the intake after glass beading. Walt

Sam,
Eastwood clear...I agree. Prior to spraying I heat the part with a small torch,
the clear seems to set better and be more durable.

I just installed an intake manifold gasket today. Covered both sides with a thin coat of Hi-Temp grease. I do the carb and water pump gaskets the same way.
