Aluminum flywheel

I have acquired a used aluminum flywheel that has the name "ALBRO" on it. Some one place a tag on it that says 35-48.
It has a bronze or brass insert instead of steel.

It's a little worn but looks like it could be ground.

Anyone know anything about them?

I also have an auburn clutch and pressure plate. I have heard of them in the past but not much lately.

Thanks,

If it was mine I'd have it ground and use it. I just paid big bucks to have one made and drill for a 9in. pressure plate with a steel face. Auban pressure plates were big years ago. I don't know if they are around anymore or not. Walt

What are the differences between bronze & steel (...other then the type of metal)? Are they for different applications???

I'm using one on my dirt track roadster build. I have an all aluminum Wilcap flywheel, and I'm going to have it machined for a steel insert.

The bronze and steel have applications for grip and weight. But depending on the clutch material you use either one will work. It's the ring gear that'll give you fits if it's not on there right.
