This is an 8RT (49 Ford Truck) generator that has had a Mitsubishi 12V alternator inserted into the case. It looks like a generator, but it is a 2 wire alternator with internal regulator. One wire for the battery and one wire to the coil for the exciter circuit. The belt width is 5/8 inch.
