So .....

I am taking pictures as I load

I notice an intermittent mist in consecutive frames ...... ;)

It is not foggy or misty out - there is no condensation on my camera lens

Happy Festivus Jim... Believe it or not, that ghosting is either condensation from breathing or the photog is smoking... its all in the flash!! Happy travellin'! ws

Troubles Abound ....

Bill,

Normally I would tend to agree with you 100% ....

But this trip - is proving to be - very interesting

I stopped at a toll road plaza to start this thread yesterday morning

After posting - went out to my truck and the starter was out

Starter was (6) months old with lifetime warranty
but parts house was not in New York so I had to buy another one ....

Christmas Eve I was in an Autozone parking lot in New York
changing it out in the snow .....

$200.00 for a new starter

On the way to get this snowmobile ....

Left rear dually inner tire peeled off a section
of tread - took out my dually fender and fuel filler hose .....

Tires on that side were (6) months old

Cooper Discoverer HT tires made in Findley, Ohio

No air pressure loss - no evidence of impact with
road debris - just peeled like an orange

I never had that happen before .....

$400.00 for (2) tires

Not sure about a fender and fuel filler hose yet

The kicker though - this morning I wake up after sleeping inside the truck overnight,
head inside to take a shower at a truck stop

The running lights on the trailer come on ...

AS I WALK AWAY FROM THE TRUCK

Just ..... come ....... on

No running lights on the truck are on or have come on ......

So I check the headlight switch - it is off

I have to unplug the 7 way plug to get them to go off .....

I come out - plug the 7 way plug back in and no trailer running lights go on

Turn on the headlight switch - they come on as normal - go off
as normal when I turn the switch off

Check the 7 way male socket at the truck and the female cord cap

No corrosion - not wet .....

That issue has not repeated itself ..... yet

And just now ......

Radio quit working ......

I rolled down the passenger rear electric window
on my quad cab dually - that was a mistake

Window will not roll up

Worked fine last week - motor will roll it down but not up now

Switch on door is o.k.

Motor ..... just ..... went for raising the window

They do that

But - again with the timing

I have NEVER had this many issues over a two day period
with any vehicle I have owned .....

Found a piece of cardboard for the window

I am charging up my 12VDC drill to drill out the motor rivets
in the door - maybe I can raise the window manually ..... :o

This snowmobile is headed for the MTFCA Museum
in Richmond, IN where I am dropping it off tomorrow

All I can say is that this has been:

A very interesting and costly trip

That is not over yet ....... :(

Those damn power windows!!! My 2000 Silverado is on #3 passenger side and #2 drivers side... they are designed to have rainwater drip down onto the top of the motor. Order a new one from CARDONE in NY state. Theres 3 rivets around the area as a part of the motor frame. Don't try to force it off as the window cable will come off then the real fun begins. Theres AN ADDITIONAL rivet or screw 10 inches forward of the others and its all one long frame inside. Don't ask me how I know! BEWARE of all the razor blades spot welded inside the door. The "ghost" is a skilled amateur welder! BTW... blast a can of brake kleen inside that light plug and swish a little stiff brush around in there... theres probably one "FLECK" of crud shorting out the hot to ground and making one lamp light.... Its always an FM (friggin mystery) ws

Hi Bill,

Yeah its' kinda the same on the Ford F series ....

Not much fun at 11:00 p.m. Christmas Day in a Home Depot
parking lot though .... ;)

I got mine drilled out - raised the window up in 20 degree weather

Someday you folks will learn that trying to take a Massachusetts T more than a few miles away from its home state can be dangerous.

Even though you've dropped the T off you are not safe.

If you feel as if you are being followed pull off the road and run around your truck - clockwise - three times followed by one circuit the other way.
Then jump up and down for 3 minutes with your finger on your nose. :o

If you are not arrested you will be OK as long as you stay away from all Duncan Donuts.
