aligning a 48 hood

I am looking for tips. The closest I have been able to get mine is a 1/2" gap. Have new hinges and support arms. I am aiming for a 1/8" gap but would be happy with a 1/4". All suggestions will be much appreciated.

Try this, loosen the 3 attachment bolts and rotate both sides in the same direction as far as they will go, tighten and check.

You may have to go in the opposite direction but this is a dance that you will have to do in order to get just the right spot.

Here's an article about it . Might have to see if you can blow it up more.

The best reference is an article from the May/June 2009 V8 Times. Reprints are available through the Early Ford V8 Club.

Thanks guys. Will try 51 merc's suggestion and attempt to enlarge Graeme's article which appears very detailed.

Like fordor41 states, every time you move one area, it affects another. If you read the article in the V-8 Times as I suggested you can get a better understanding as how it all works.

Thanks for the offer Woodie. Graeme has emailed them to me and hopefully tomorrow when my office opens we can enlarge them.

Thanks FortyNiner. I clicked on the site you posted, now have it saved, and was able to read Mark Kicsak's article. Plan to get back at it again tomorrow.

If you go to the V-8 Club website you can contact the club members who sell the V-8m Club books. If they have the '09 back issue you need you can purchase it.
