Umm...Lawson, "res ipsa loquitur" translates as "the thing speaks for itself". "Caveat emptor" is "buyer beware"

Adam

Learned another thing today. Now I just need to remember it. Thanks Adam.
Hey Adam, I believe you and my wife are the last two folks remaining that speak Latin

Adam, you are absolutely correct with both translations. In order to save face I must confess that I overcame the affliction of practicing law over 35 years ago and my memory and spelling abilities have declined exponentially.

Yes, I’ve tried the tap test and also checked that it’s getting voltage. It’s dead.

Just a thought: what if you reversed the wires and made the motor go backwards. Some times a small piece of junk gets in and locks the impeller.

Mike, the tiny amount of Latin I know is only due to my medical background (including a couple of depositions as an expert witness-my favorite moment was two attorneys arguing an arcane point of law and one saying to the other "res ipsa loquitur, counselor, res ipsa loquitur!")
Lawson, no face saving needed-I'm happy I still remember how to tie my shoes

Reversing the leads doesn’t make the pump run backwards. 2 wire positive and ground. Reverse leads for positive grounding.
