Air in tires

I'm having issues putting air in new tubes to 35 PSI.
I have new tires with metal stem tubes with new valve cores.
Can't get air chuck to depress valve core enough to input air.
Some goes in, most escapes. I can only get to about 25 PSI.
Tried several air chucks/air hose/compressor combinations.

Ideas?

Original stems or reproductions? Can you loosen the core slightly?

Reproductions. Thanks, I'll try to back out core a bit and try again.

Never had this problem with the originals, Hmm

Perhaps a simple bicycle air pump would work.

Try a pointy rubber tipped blow gun, works SLICK, then just let out any excess pressure.

FYI I've had the same problem with some of the chinese air chucks. Find an old american made one and it should work just fine.
