Air Compressor

Hi All,

I have a small air compressor that I want to mount to the side of the 4 speed box in the 42 Ford Truck.

While rebuilding it the compression ring snapped, was wondering if anyone knew who ( I know not likely) would have a ring set for the compressor or what other ring set may fit it.

The compressor is a DUALGAST ( by the looks) and has a few numbers on it in the pictures.

I'm having a bit of trouble finding any information on the unit

MHO, take it apart, measure the piston and ring, then Google air compressor repair sites. May find a ring set that would work. I can’t remember off the top of my head the site, but I was able to find disc valves for a 1940s Kellog 2 stage pump I was restoring. The company had a plethora of parts for many brands.

"Qualcast" is a British manufacturer of things like heavy duty lawnmowers etc. I wonder if they were the manufacturer.

As said, it might be easier to source rings based on their dimensions rather than the application. Just another avenue of investigation you might try.

I think these units were placed on many trucks built during WW2 so that tires could be inflated in the field. It's a fun truck accessory. Thanks for sharing your pictures.

Thanks all for your help, I found some that may work online last night. I will also look at your advice as well incase they don't fit.
