Aftermarket wheels for disc brakes

I need aftermarket wheels to use with disc brakes on a '40 ford. The rear are original and I need 2 front wheels that look original but need a bigger center hole diameter. Any suggestions besides Coker Tires?

You might try Summit Racing. They have a good variety of wheels at reasonable cost. I bought a set of 15" Smoothies from them that I am running on my 41 pickup.

Wheel Vintiques certainly makes a near reproduction of a 1940 thru 48 type wheel with 5 bolt on a 5.5 circle. I'm not shure if they make a 5 X 5.5 with a larger center hole though. I guess it depends on how much bigger the center hole needs to be. A fellow might have to check Lincoln and later Mercury wheels with 5 X 5.5 to see if they are more in line.

What size wheel do you need and what bolt pattern are your rotors?

What kind of discs are you using? I put Vintiques on a set of stang 2 rotors with wilwoods and never had an issue. Make sure you get all this sorted out before you mount any tires, none of these guys will take mounted rims back, Id call Vintiques direct if you have a dimension problem. Mic your center hole requirement and post your requirement, see what My dimension is.

I'm using an ECI disc brake kit, stock rear end on my 41 pickup. Same as a 40.
Got wheels and tires from Coker, they are 15 in. Wheel Vintique wheels.
No problem with center hole size.

I checked out the ECI disc brake kit and it is exactly what I have, which Vintique wheel did you use and did you go with the 15x7 in the front?

A 15X7 may be too wide for the front. I would use a 15X6 or a 15X5. Both sizes are available from Wheel Vintiques, Rally America , Early Wheel Company,or Wheel Smith. All of them make wheels that will match your stock rears and some make them in 16 inch also. The wheels also come in different offsets. Some come already primered and you should ask if they primer them. It will save you a lot of time when preparing for paint.

I have 15 x 5 Vintiques on speedway brakes on my 35
The only problem I have with the rims is the 48 merc caps I spent over a year hunting down one by one will not push on all the way

I've got 15x5, 15x7 gennie. Got them through Coker with P195/75 and P235/75.
A package deal with free mounting and balanceing. No problems, sure made a differance in handling.

I had Wheel Vintiques make up a set of 7 inch wide, 15 inch wheels with NOS 5x5.5 Ford centers for my '40 coupe. I also used Magnum disc brakes (mid-size GM calipers, vented rotor, and their aluminum hubs). Zero issues over 15 years.
