Aftermarket clutch stabilizer

Saw one of these. What does it do, beside what the name says? Is it something worth investing in? Do they do a darn thing?

Thanks for any info!

They were an aftermarket kit to alleviate clutch chatter. Bolts to bell housing and literally hooks onto "X" member. There were a few on Ebay a few days ago. I have one on my 40- as well as the steady rods (anti chatter rods). Motor and transmission mounts must be in good condition for them to work well.

The reason these stabilizer rods are needed is because the front and rear motor mount biscuits no longer do their job having loosened up due to compression and age. Also the oil and grease in the area is a cause.

If you already have bought one, go ahead and use it. Did your car have "steady rods" originally?

Are you experiencing clutch chatter because the engine/trans is moving on the mounts, or has the clutch become oil contaminated?

no im missing 1 bar wasn't on car when it arrived now cant fit due to exhausts have minor shudder but have learnt to drive around it hoping this will sort it out
