I have the side cover, the gasket, and the curly tube with a threaded fitting on one end. I need the instructions and any other parts I might be missing to install this oil filter on my Model A.
Thanks Tom. I've had this thing so long that it's missing a part. I called Brattons and they have parts. They are sending me the brass nut.
We did an oil filter review in the Summer 2005 issue of Model A Times. The Afordable unit was the one we felt did the best job of circulating the oil through the filter. We later added an adapter to turn the filter up and down instead of sticking straight out.
The picture shows the added bracket and filter position.
Thanks Tom and John that was needed info. So with an oil filter in place does that mean it is OK to run modern detergent oil in the Model A engine?
One more thing Tom, what is a spin-tight?
